0,2 hertz – The fréquence of seasickness
Painted steel rail, seasick-bags with silk-screen print, poster on PVC-plastic (120 x 120 cm)
Soloexhibition installed at Toldkammeret, Artspace Transit, Helsingør, DK.
By following the curves of the rail at a speed of 3 km/h, the body is exposed to a frequency of 0.2 hertz — a frequency that research has shown to be the one at which the human body is most sensitive to motion sickness.
The poster explores this frequency and its possible connection to the evolution of life in the ocean, suggesting a link between early balance systems and the rhythmic movements of the sea.
